Knitting Group
Posted on August 22nd, 2008 by Surviving
On Tuesday I was able to make arrangements for someone to watch my three monsters boys. I then spent a couple of hours at the LYS during there weekly knitting group. The owner is very nice, friendly and helpful. I didn’t talk much but it was nice to just be able to knit with others and listen to all the different conversations going on. Of course I couldn’t leave without spending money, hahaha! I ended up buying a children’s sweater pattern and enough yarn to make one. So far everything is working out well with the sweater, I haven’t gotten very far though. Unfortunately the sock I was trying to work on while in the group just didn’t work out at all!

Pattern Suggestions
Posted on July 20th, 2008 by Surviving
Well, I really want to start working on another pair of socks. I needs some suggestions on a pattern and help with figuring out gauge. I’ve never done it before as it really wasn’t important in most of the things I’ve knit so far. The first pair of socks I made are pretty big and are really more like slippers to be worn over another pair of socks.

Out of Control!
Posted on June 23rd, 2008 by Surviving
I’ve been buying lots of great hand dyed sock yarn lately. My husband would go crazy if he knew how much I’ve spent. You may want to know what I have done with it. Currently it is all hiding away in my cedar chest only to come out to be petted my me and my two youngest children.

Back to the Land of the Living
Posted on June 14th, 2008 by Surviving
I know it has been a really long time since I have written anything. I’ve been going through a lot the last few months. I wasn’t taking care of health. I actually ended up in the hospital this week. I stopped doing a lot of things lately. While in the hospital I realized that I had stopped doing the things that I enjoyed. I need my blog and to spend a little time online. So if anyone is still reading I hope to hear from you soon.
I have been working on some knitting. I actually have several things that I need to send out that have been sitting for a couple of months now. I am very sorry that it has taken me so long . I’m going to get everything together and packaged this weekend so that I can mail it all out next week.

Finally…
Posted on April 6th, 2008 by Surviving
So I finally have a few minutes to post some of the projects I have completed the last couple of months.

Two Dishcloth tied together to make pants and a Tribble

A hat and two additional pins for decoration for Amanda’s hat project

A butterfly for the Hot Cocoa Swap

Market bag for a swap

My first pair of socks, which are a bit big and work better as slippers over a pair of my regular socks, and a sock for the Wee Tiny Sock Swap.

Dishcloths and Tribbles for a coworker, who is moving into her first apartment by herself.

Packages!!!!
Posted on March 9th, 2008 by Surviving
I just want to start off by apologizing to my partners and hosts for not posting sooner. Things have been kind of crazy with work, kids and health problems at my house. I hope you all understand and will forgive me.
The first package I received was for the Hot Cocoa Swap from Emma. I had a hard time trying to keep my family from taking off with things while I was opening the package. Before I had gotten home from work, my oldest had tried to open it, fortunately my husband stopped him. After opening it I had to hide it so that things didn’t disappear before I could take a picture.
The next package was for the “Defeat the Winter Doldrums” Swap from Anita and Melissa. This time not only were my kids trying to claim things as their own so was my husband.
